Youth and Family Ministry mission
One Generation to Another
At Valley Christian Church in Las Vegas, our Youth and Family Ministry is built on a core conviction: to cultivate a faith that will outlive us. Each generation must be taught who God is and what He has done—not just for their own sake, but so that the promise of the gospel is passed on from one generation to the next.

We believe the church should be a place where families grow together in faith—through Scripture, prayer, and family Bible groups that reflect the spirit of the early church in Acts 2. Our mission is to prepare children and future generations to know the truth, respond to God’s call, and live out the gospel in a world that desperately needs it.
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
—Acts 2:38–39
“I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.”
—2 Timothy 1:5 (NLT)
Opposition Is Real
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ…”
—2 Corinthians 4:4
We believe that God desires every child to know the truth—to see the light of the gospel and walk in it. But we also recognize the spiritual reality that Satan works to blind the minds of younger generations, filling their hearts with confusion, distraction, and doubt.
As a church family in Las Vegas, we don’t ignore this opposition—we meet it with prayer, truth, and unity.

We accept the call to engage in spiritual battle for the hearts and minds of our children—through family Bible groups, open conversations, and lives rooted in Scripture.
Intentional Discipleship Starts Early
The enemy doesn’t wait to influence children—so we won’t wait to guide them in truth. Spiritual formation must begin now. As parents, mentors, and members of God’s family, we’re called to intentionally plant seeds of faith in the hearts of the next generation.
Whether you're a parent, grandparent, or a Christian with or without children of your own—you have a role in passing on faith.
This is the vision behind our Youth and Family Ministry:
a community where every believer helps the next generation learn what the Bible says and live it out.

“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord… so the next generation would know them—even the children yet to be born.”
—Psalm 78:4–6
“Even when I am old and gray… I will declare your power to the next generation.”
—Psalm 71:18
Confronting the Lies That Hold Us Back
Many parents feel unequipped to lead their children spiritually. But if you know enough of the gospel to follow Jesus, you know enough to begin influencing your child’s faith journey. God works through your humility, and your faith not your perfection.

Lie #1: “It’s the job of professionals.”
While parents have the primary role, the church community is called to join in. Disciples without children still carry the call to invest in the faith of younger generations. It’s not just a family task—it’s a church mission.
